FAQs
What should I wear to and during a massage?
How often should I get a massage?
Once a month or more is ideal. If you have an acute issue it may take a few sessions scheduled closer together to retrain the muscles and release all the layers of muscle in that area.
What should I do after a massage to get the most benefit out of my session?
Make sure to rest the day after your massage so your muscles can recover. Avoid going to exercise or physically exerting yourself. If you receive a deep-tissue massage, you must drink plenty of water to flush toxins released into your bloodstream. Icing any areas that have received deep work, then soaking in an Epsom salt bath, is ideal. This may sound like a lot, but it will make your investment worth it. If you have not done aftercare after your massages, you would be surprised at what a difference it can make.
How do I decide what additional therapies to sign up for?
Schedule a free 15-minute consultation call. I am happy to assist you in deciding what is the best place to start for your individual goals and needs.
What is a Naturopath?
A Naturopath is a healthcare professional trained in a holistic system of medicine, addressing the whole person- mind, body, and spirit—seeking the root cause of illness rather than just symptoms. This is done by focusing on supporting the body's innate ability to heal itself through natural therapies such as nutrition, exercise, herbs, lifestyle changes, and massage. These professionals encourage overall wellness and prevention of illness through balanced healthy living.
It is best to wear something you do not mind oil getting on. Also, consider something loose and easy to slide on when your skin is coated with oil after your session. Make sure to let your therapist know if you have somewhere to go afterwards and would like your hair and/or face avoided. During the massage, you can dress down to your comfort level. You will remain covered except for the one area being worked on.
